Why MANOSAMIN™ Has Worked for Thousands

The development of MANOSAMIN™ began with our first foray into martial arts in 1966. The first purpose of training was for self-defense. Then came the discovery that martial arts training involves so much more than just self-defense. Still, it was important to know how to defend if the time was to be taken for training. 12 years of study and training in LimaLama Arts of Self-Defense.

We worked out and taught 10 to 12 hours per day, 5 days per week, the longest training in any system or style we studied) under the direct tutelage of GrandMaster and Founder of LimaLama Arts of Self-Defense, Mr. Tino Tuiolosega. (Yes, he was in our studio or we were at his home all day long…)

From our study of LimaLama, we came away with “keys” to training concepts that we were able to develop into the MANOSAMIN ™ System. MANOSAMIN ™ flourished as we developed more and more concepts into actual fighting techniques applicable to everyday life and to people of all body types and sizes. We then combined this physical movement with applicable psychological training for individuals wanting to change their lives to not only learn self-defense that works for them, but to learn how to make mental and emotional choices that work in everyday life to keep them safe and strong.

Our combined training in 9 styles of martial arts includes Western Boxing, Shito-Ryu Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Chi Gung, Shaolin Kung Fu, Wing Chun, Aikido, American Kenpo Karate, and LimaLama.


Legitimate Certifications Benefit You

Full Professorship was granted to Clara E. Minor and Dio P. Santiago by the Grandmaster of LimaLama Arts of Self-Defense, Mr. Tino Tuiolosega, in 1988. Dio P. Santiago is a first generation direct student, and was promoted by Mr. Tino Tuiolosega throughout our 12 years of daily training. Clara E. Minor is also a first generation direct student of Mr. Tino Tuiolosega, and is the highest-ranking, and longest-trained woman ever promoted as a direct student of, and by, Mr. Tino Tuiolosega.

Our study of psychology has increased our understanding of human beings and their behavior, what motivates people, how they react to specific mental stimuli, and what makes a person go through changes to make their lives better.

You too can benefit from the knowledge we have gained over the years. We apply our knowledge according to what each individual’s needs and goals are. You will be getting exactly what you need.


Why we continue to do this after studying and training 42 & 34 years, respectively

Our enjoyment in working with people to help themselves be safe and stay safe, our love of children (who seem to have challenging safety issues due to the fact that they are smaller in body size, more emotionally vulnerable, and are taught to always obey authority), keeps us motivated to increase our own knowledge in this discipline.

The sense of accomplishment and fulfillment we receive by helping others find their power, get stronger, feel confident, raise self-esteem, get fit, and eventually find their freedom, keeps us in this teaching and training environment.


It doesn’t matter what your size or body type is,

…you can do this

Being small in stature seems, to most people, to be a detriment when it comes to defending yourself, either with verbal skills or physical skills. Many people view small people as vulnerable and easy targets. And the opposite is true too—they view large people as strong, in control and somewhat intimidating (for the most part).

Both of these views are misconstrued to what, really, is reality. We know small, extremely powerful women, and we know large, extremely vulnerable men. You may fall in between these two extremes. Whatever your case may be, you can benefit from this training.

Even in verbal confrontations (which seem to happen daily to many people), small people tend to be not believed, or they are even seen as insignificant. (Sometimes even a larger person can be seen as insignificant.) This is another way of saying they are being disrespected.

This is sometimes worse for women in situations where the majority present are males. Women must work harder, show strength, and be extremely competent to even begin to compete in many situations. If you can win this one in the martial arts arena, you can do anything! With MANOSAMIN training, women win this all the time.

If people don’t believe you, it can leave you feeling frustrated, angry, defeated, and inconsequential. This eats away at your esteem and self-confidence. You might even hesitate telling a store clerk that s/he gave you the wrong change!
