"Since beginning Pilates classes two months ago, twice a week at MINORSAN, I have considerably fewer backaches. My abs have become noticeably stronger, so much so that I've had to tighten my belt a notch. The use of multiple props which engage different muscle groups in a single exercise are both challenging and rewarding. After these Pilates workouts I feel invigorated. My whole core is pushed to its limits each week and my neck, abs and lower back have benefited greatly. Clara is careful to correct potentially dangerous postures of the neck and back while ensuring that these areas are strengthened in a safe and healthy manner. I love these classes and look forward to them every Monday and Thursday morning as my happy, sweaty, little energizing hour to start the day!"
Cheers,
Liz

Hello to All Pilates Enthusiasts~
If you have not yet tried a Pilates class, we'd like to introduce you to this very effective workout. Women and men can make a HUGE difference in flexibility, true awareness of how you move your body in different situations, and how to lengthen your muscles for maximum range of motion through Pilates.
Having balance and stability in daily situations is of paramount importance in order to keep your back safe and strong. If you happen to fall off balance, in the usual situation, most people just fall, and take whatever injuries happen to develop as a consequence. With ongoing Pilates training, your abdominal muscles will contract to keep your back stable, which results in much less injury, and maybe even none at all, to your back as you take any possible falls.
Your body will move with more elegance and grace as you begin to connect with the internal core muscles that hold you upright, and you might even "grow" taller. By permanently lengthening your spine, you can add increments of inches to your height.
And, just for a second, let's talk about your deep lower abdominal muscles. There is a particular problem women face after giving childbirth naturally. Coughing, sneezing, laughing really hard, jumping, or just suddently moving in a different direction can cause the bladder to loosen it's hold, so to speak. These small "incidents" are annoying at best, and can be really embarrassing at worst. Pilates training will strengthen these pelvic floor muscles to stop these "incidents" from occurring. It will also enhance other areas of your life that utilize these same muscles!
You will also tone your larger muscle groups, as you are also working your entire body throughout the Pilates workout. Your arms will begin to take a better shape, your leg muscles will lengthen for a longer, leaner feel. And, yes, you burn energy during the Pilates workout, so if you are looking for fat loss, Pilates will enhance that process.
