Classes at Minorsan

All classes are focused on every level of fitness

Beginners are welcome! 

No matter what your current level of fitness is, everyone is welcome, as our environment is open and safe. Instructors give everyone options to each movement. No one is forced to do what doesn’t feel safe, or even doable, as this could set people up for possible injury.

Your safety is our top priority. Here are short descriptions of our current classes.

KickAeroBix:

This is our Fitness Kickboxing on Heavy Bags class (the OG fitness kickboxing class in Santa Cruz County since 1996). All movement consists of several levels. Beginners thru advanced exercisers feel comfortable, as our Instructors focus on all participants in the workout.

After a brief warmup, you’ll get your gloves on (we provide these for your first class).

Rhythmical movement follows the warmup, utilizing the heavy bags. Instructor’s choose to then segue into a bit of conditioning at their discretion. A cooldown/stretching segment ends the workout, as your muscles need the benefits of a good overall stretch.

BodyPump:

This is weightlifting on your terms, which means you get to choose the amount of weight you want to use for each ‘track’ (this is the muscle group we’re working, paired to a song, so we move to the beat of the music. Consistent movement to a  beat supports you in getting thru the entire track (the fun factor).

You start with very light weights. Weeks should pass before you add more weight, as your body has to adapt to the current weight configuration (this is a safety factor). Your instructor guides you on weight choices, keeping safety in mind. All major muscles are used in this workout, providing a full body experience.

HIIT-Kick

HIIT represents High Intensity Interval Training. Studies indicate it’s one of the best methods to use when people want to be fit, and feel those impressive results.

In this class, you experience a segment of HIIT movement (not to the beat of the music), and a segment of rhythmical movement on the heavy bags. This class incudes a warmup and a cooldown, which are two critical components of safety for your body.
